Abigail Brodie

Working therapeutically, auto ethnographic artist Abigail
Brodie unpacks the traumatic baggage of childhood and the father daughter
relationship, through the self created character and transitional object of
'CatLong'. The accompanying visual language of CatLong's world is rooted in
fantasy and the surreal to help digest the lasting effects that trauma has on
the everyday. Their practice is based upon the emotional process of depicting
memoires, thoughts, and feelings in zine's that are often prompted by the
dreaming unconscious and developed collaboratively with loved ones. This is
with the aim in mind of understanding their neurosis and to move away from the
act of memory repression.
