Emily Owen

Emily is a midlands-based artist who creates work using mainly textiles and video. She focuses her work on her own childhood memories, but also on her own family and past and current relationships, by using footage from when she was a child and diaries. The process of making work is particularly important, especially knitting, as her Grandma taught her how to knit at a young age and this has become a fond memory. Emily also uses embroidery, mainly working with words from diaries or memory, which correspond with the fabric she is using.
